Examen - Graduation

Hello again my crafty peeps,

Wow, it feels like I have been a busy little bee the last week with all the cards and everything that has gone on this past week. This past Saturday I celebrated my nephew on his Graduation - not any graduation either. He is now officially a doctor and is off to do is AT this summer and then when that comes to an end he has to choose what field he wants to continue in, if he wants to specialize in something specific such as medicin, children etc.

I am such a proud auntie and I don't know where he gets his drive from, he is always doing everything All-In.
He has not flunked a single exam in these 5,5 years he has studied to become a doctor.

Anyways, I had to make a card for him, and since my son's are half Americans and I have lived in the States for 10 years I thought it would be great to make a graduation card inspired from the States. Here in Sweden we do not use cap and gown when graduating from University. We do have a special hat/cap when graduating from your so-called HighSchool.

Below you will see the card that I made for my nephew Dr. Jonathan Björnsson. I wanted to incorporate our Swedish colors so therefore there are a lot of yellow and blue as our flag. Since he is taken his Master's I had to choose the black for the cap and gown, and he had a blue suit so therefore the blue pants :)

Anyways, until next time .....................................................craft on!!!

Orlando Victims

Hello my crafty peeps,

We all have read about the horrendous happening in Orlando. I don't think anyone has not heard about it, even me here in Sweden has read and seen it on the news. I feel so sorry for all the victims family that has this big grief to cope with now, and all the injured people who is trying to heal and get over this tragic event.

I have lived in Florida myself for 8 years and has visited Orlando several times, I lived in Fort Lauderdale and I went to Orlando to visit the theme parks and visit some friends. It feels close to my heart to even though I have not lived in Florida since 2008.

The very talented artist Betty Roberts did a image in honoring of the victims and the injured of the Orlando shooting. Below you will see my take on the image. I even went a step further and used the same colors I have colored the rainbow, with my promarker, on paper to make the background papers. She was a freebie but I guess you will find her in the store: SimplyBStamps

The sentiment is actually from another tribute she did for the Paris shooting and I thought it was just as appropriate to use it here on this card as well.

Anyways, until next time ........................... be careful and take everyday as it is the last and craft on!!

Monday Greetings Challenge - Summer Beach Party

Hello again my crafty peeps,

Wow, it's Monday already and that means of course we have another challenge starting today at The Outlawz and Monday Greetings.

This week we are privilege to have 2 sponsors again. It is so much fun when we have more than one sponsor to make cards for, but the only problem I see is that I don't know what to do with all my cards. Hm, I have to figure out what to do. I do try to sell them as well, but I am making more than I sell.

Anyhow, this weeks sponsors are the following:

In the Eureka Stamps I chose to use: digi20106 Beach Girl
I really enjoyed coloring her up and liked the way I choose to layout the rest. I chose to use stamps in the corners from DIGISTAMPS4JOY

This card my son's music teacher got last Friday since it was the last time before summer vacations. I thought the card was on the spot with that sentiment as well since school is out now and it is summer vacation.

For our sponsor over at Creative Bug I choose to color the image Time Well Spent.
I thought this image was good with the theme, since it's summer and I have such lovely memories when I was a child. I can remember to go out fishing on my grandpa's boat and make a fire to cook the fish we caught and eat it for dinner the same day.

Colors I have used using Promarker:
Face: Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush
Hair: Cocoa, Cinnamon
Bathing Suite: Rose Pink, Baby Pink
Floaty: Canary, Buttercup, Pink, Forest Green, Bright Green.

Upcoming challenges are:
June 20 - New Technique and tell what it is
June 27 - Anything Goes
July 4 - SOMETHING ABOUT MUSIC
July 11 - Summer recreation
July 18 - Friendship
July 25 - Anything Goes

Studenten - Graduation

Hello my crafty peeps,

Yesterday (June 10th) was a BIG day for many students. It was Graduation day from High School and it is soooo much fun. I had a sick little boy at home with me yesterday and he so wanted to see the graduates. Here in Sweden the graduates get together with their classmates and goes around the inner city in the back of a dumpster truck, a convertible car or a wagon behind a tractor. They sing and have fun and they go around the downtown about 2- 3 rounds before they go home to celebrate with their friends and family.

We got invited to a friends daughter who actually was one of these graduates, and of course I had to make a quick card for her today. We don't have the cap and gown here in Sweden but didn't find another image that I thought was good. This was the first time I actually made a darker skin color and since I was in a rush I felt that nothing could go wrong. I will leave you with my take on artbymirans digi Graduationgirl

Anyways, until next time ....... craft on!!!

Simply B Stamp - May Progressive Challenge

Hello again,

So Betty Roberts owner of Simply Betty Stamps have had a challenge that ended the other day, to be exact on June 7th. With summer almost here and schools ending, graduation and a sick little boy it has been hectic I will tell you.

Anyhow, her challenge was to take Bookworm Rio from the Emos collection digi and make a full project and we also had to use certain things on the project for it to be eligible for the challenge. The requirements where: Anything for a Student, Teacher, School administrator, or educational personnel. We also had to use the following on the project: Use at least ONE designer paper,  paper clip, a pencil, eraser, or any school supply you can fit onto your projects!

I colored up the image quickly but I had trouble getting the card ready. I had so many different ideas in my head, but finally I found out what to make out of it, and I ended up giving it to my son's teacher who will not be his teacher next semester since he is getting a new for the next 3 years.

I had fun making this challenge and project and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. For you who are wondering about the letters on the top, yeah I know there are 3 letters extra and those letters are the ones we use in our Swedish alphabet. (Åå  Ää  Öö)

I will let you see my project/card and make your own opinion about it, comment what you think of it. Always nice to hear what other people think of what you make.
Anyways, until next time ............... craft on!!

Monday Greetings Challenge - Wet or Dry Embossing

Hello my crafty peeps,
~Happy Swedish Day~

It's yet another start of the week and this Monday here in Sweden is a Holiday. We are actually celebrating our National Day/Independence Day. I am a proud Swede so I am sharing this picture with you of our flag. It was not a holiday a few years ago, but now it is and it is so so welcomed I will tell you. Today the sun is shining from a clear blue sky and the temperature is around 60F so it's a bit chilly, but are loving the weather.

This weeks over at The Outlawz we have new challenges for everyday of the week.
Monday Greetings Challenge has a new challenge and the theme for this week is: Wet or Dry Embossing.

Our sponsor this week is the talented

ABOUT Andrea Norris, Owner of Sheep Ski Designs- Living in Leeds, Yorkshire in the UK, working full time as a Management Accountant and currently working on 4 design teams.
"I'm a dancer (Argentine Tango and Ceroc) and a competitive badminton player.  It's amazing that I've managed to squeeze drawing into my schedule as well as being an obsessive crafter and creator of cards.  I have no actual style as yet but do love the unusual and quirky.  I may be known for producing cards in soft pastel colours.
I love anything arty.  I've always drawn stuff, for as long as I can remember.   In my younger days I sold a few watercolour paintings.  I recently found mixed media which is a joy and love creating canvases with flowers.
I've had a battle with digital drawing for about a year and finally found some software I can gel with in January 2016.  Recently one of the challenge teams I worked on was short of a designer's images to create with so I drew some.  Then people kept asking me for my drawings.  So I thought what the heck let's open a shop and give something back to the crafting world, to the lovely ladies who have supported me on my journey.
Welcome to my world, we're only at the beginning and I have so much more to offer."
Andrea

So here is my weeks take on the theme and the sponsor. I used dry embossing and used the image called: Fuzzy image no 9. It was a little challenge to color him so it would look like fur, but I am pretty satisfied on how it all turned out and how it looked with my dry embossing in the background.
I thought this little bear was such a cutie that I couldn't resist him and decided to have him in this challenge and color him up. I do like to challenge myself in becoming a better colorist. I will leave you with my take on this weeks challenge and I hope to see your cards in the challenge too.

Anyways, until next time ...........................craft on.

Colors I have used using Promarkers:
Flower: Lipstick Red, Red
