Monday Greetings Challenge - Music to my Ears

Hello my crafty peeps,

This last week has been challenge for me. My little man has been home sick, and on Friday I started to feeling cold and all Saturday I spent in bed. Then on Sunday my oldest son came home and he had been throwing up since early hour. We had gotten the lovely Winterflu so we have all been couch potatoes so to speak.

Anyways, I had started colored my image early in the week so I would have it done before the challenge needed to get posted, but boy was I was wrong. I had to sit and finish the card on Sunday so it would be finished for the posting. I decided to a very simple and clean card.

I managed to finish it in time and below you will see my take on this weeks challenge. This weeks sponsor is our talented Polkadoodles and I chose to use Serenity Stardust.

Until next time ..................................................... Craft on !!!
Ps. Happy <3 Valentine's day to you all.

UPCOMING CHALLENGES:
FEB 20 - TIC TAC TOE (pick 3)
FEB 27 - ANYTHING GOES

Monday Greetings Challenge - Use more than 2 layers - GCC101716

Hello my Crafty Peeps,

Wow, I can't believe it is already Monday again. I have gotten more energy after I have visit another Dr and getting a second opinion. Thank God for doing that. Instead off increasing on depressive medicine he ordered me to increase my medicine for my Thyroid. Just the day after I had more energy and more and more has come for each day. Having problems with your thyroid is not an easy thing, but I am glad I went and got a second opinion.

Anyways, lets go on with this weeks challenge. For this week the theme is Use more than 2 layers, here you can really get creative and find your mojo in doing cards that you have been wanting to do. Is it to start with more Christmas card, or Birthday cards?? What ever it is it's a great opportunity to do that this week and enter Monday Greetings at the same time.

This weeks sponsors are: Angies Cards and Digis and also Creative Bug and each of them are having fabulous prices to the winner.
For the Angies Cards and Digis I choose to use: Daisy May Pumpkin Carving and the background paper I used on this card is actually one of my DTs own work. If you want to download her digital paper as a Freebie visit Pat Matins blog and show her some love when you get this lovely paper.
For the Creative Bug I choose to use: Mrs. Sunshine. The latter I chose to use Faber Castell Polychromos pencils for.

I have been wanting to try out real pencil markers as an addition to my Promarker pens. I finally got a really good deal off of Ebay and so I ordered them and have had them in the box for weeks now. I have been scared to even try them on. I wanted to try how they felt to color with since I know a lot of people using them and their work is magnificent. So, I decided that I would try one of the image for this weeks challenge, and I got pretty satisfied on how it turned out when it was done.

I would love to hear what you think of my first time ever coloring with Faber Castell's Polychromos, so please show me some love and let me know your thoughts.

Anyways, I will leave you with this weeks cards that I have done.... and as always........ Craft on!!

 Promarkers I have used:
(Will update this when I have the note)

Unfortunately I did not write down the colors I used.

UPCOMING CHALLENGES:
October 24 - Animal Antics - Feature an animal on your card/project
October 31 - Anything Goes
November 7 - Use a Christmas Sentiment ( Hosting this challenge)

Monday Greetings Challenge - Wet or Dry Embossing

Hello my crafty peeps,
~Happy Swedish Day~

It's yet another start of the week and this Monday here in Sweden is a Holiday. We are actually celebrating our National Day/Independence Day. I am a proud Swede so I am sharing this picture with you of our flag. It was not a holiday a few years ago, but now it is and it is so so welcomed I will tell you. Today the sun is shining from a clear blue sky and the temperature is around 60F so it's a bit chilly, but are loving the weather.

This weeks over at The Outlawz we have new challenges for everyday of the week.
Monday Greetings Challenge has a new challenge and the theme for this week is: Wet or Dry Embossing.

Our sponsor this week is the talented

ABOUT Andrea Norris, Owner of Sheep Ski Designs- Living in Leeds, Yorkshire in the UK, working full time as a Management Accountant and currently working on 4 design teams.
"I'm a dancer (Argentine Tango and Ceroc) and a competitive badminton player.  It's amazing that I've managed to squeeze drawing into my schedule as well as being an obsessive crafter and creator of cards.  I have no actual style as yet but do love the unusual and quirky.  I may be known for producing cards in soft pastel colours.
I love anything arty.  I've always drawn stuff, for as long as I can remember.   In my younger days I sold a few watercolour paintings.  I recently found mixed media which is a joy and love creating canvases with flowers.
I've had a battle with digital drawing for about a year and finally found some software I can gel with in January 2016.  Recently one of the challenge teams I worked on was short of a designer's images to create with so I drew some.  Then people kept asking me for my drawings.  So I thought what the heck let's open a shop and give something back to the crafting world, to the lovely ladies who have supported me on my journey.
Welcome to my world, we're only at the beginning and I have so much more to offer."
Andrea

So here is my weeks take on the theme and the sponsor. I used dry embossing and used the image called: Fuzzy image no 9. It was a little challenge to color him so it would look like fur, but I am pretty satisfied on how it all turned out and how it looked with my dry embossing in the background.
I thought this little bear was such a cutie that I couldn't resist him and decided to have him in this challenge and color him up. I do like to challenge myself in becoming a better colorist. I will leave you with my take on this weeks challenge and I hope to see your cards in the challenge too.

Anyways, until next time ...........................craft on.

,

Colors I have used using Promarkers:
Flower: Lipstick Red, Red
Stem: Forest Green, Bright Green
Bear: Chestnut, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Caramel

Upcoming challenges are:
June 13 - Summer Beach Party
June 20 - New Technique (USE A NEW TECHNIQUE TO YOU)
June 27 - Anything Goes

We are still looking for some GDT so if you are interested please let me know.

Confirmation Card

Hello again,

This weekend is a busy weekend, but why rest when you have full of activities all weekend. The oldest son had a sleep over at school, but he couldn't fall asleep so I had to get him around midnight. Saturday morning rise and shine and get ready for my little man's soccer games, who I am also the coach for. I just had to drive my older son back to school for some more fun with the friends.

Sunday means drive to my niece who lives around 1hr 15 min drive away to attend her Confirmation day. They grow up so fast that I have trouble catching up in their lives. Anyhow, I made a card for her Confirmation so she would remember it and think back that she got it from her auntie. It is so much more fun to give something that you have done yourself and put your heart in.

I never put much on my cards but I am very pleased with how this card turned out even if, for my taste, is a lot of embellishments. Sometimes you needs to get out of your comfort zone and just go go for it and that is what I did this time.

The digital stamp is from  Skogstokiga Digital Stamp and Art and it's called Kors Bibel Ros.

Anyways, I will leave you with my card and until next time .......................... craft on.

"To the memory of your confirmation"

Here are the colors I used with Promarkers:

Rose: Crimson, Cardinal Red, Ruby, Poppy, Red, Lipstick Red
Stem/Leaf: Pine, Forest Green, Grass, Bright Green, Leaf Green, Apple
Cross: Cool Grey 1-5
String: Cerise, Rose Pink, Baby Pink
Book: Satin, Almond, Sandstone
